TB - Really great images. The bear cub story adds a real feel for the experience, very cool that you got some shots, I would have been spooked.

giantbrookie, thanks for the info & the story. North Guard Lake attracts me for the same reason - it looks really inaccesible and remote.


Doug395, thank you so much. That bear encounter really got to me (esp. since it happened in the first hour of the trip). And that photo is now hanging on my wall as a reminder :nod:

Gorgeous pictures Trailblazer! I love how the colors and light change in the fall in the Sierra. Looks like a really beautiful area

Those pictures are just beautiful Trailblazer. I have never started a hike at Road's End, but I'm going to change that situation next year.

Thank you so much Kathy. I never really hiked much out of the west side until I moved to the bay area, now its just easier. Lots of hidden gems all over the place.
