I am afraid i'm going to have to abort this trip. :( A co-worker and good friend has accepted a position at Hawaii Volcanoes Nat'l Park and his going away party is going to be on the 28th and it would be very uncooth for me to miss it.

Wingding is right about the snow. I hiked up to 11,100 on Saturday in the North Fork of Big Pine Creek area, and the snow never got deeper than 3 - 4 inches. I wish I could go!

I posted on another thread, talked to some guys that just came out. No snow where we're going! Temps are cold, water partially frozen inside the tent at nights.
