395 Eastern Sierra coming from north

Post by kd6swa »

Just wanted to say that when coming from Reno-Tahoe area when traveling on 395 going south, gasoline is much more reasonable in Minden, Nevada than some of the smal towns south of there.
Top off there if price matters to you. While returning, if you can wait and have gas to make it back there, top off on your return. Was in the Topaz area yesterday and the construction that was going on earlier in the year appears to be finished - up to the California state line.

100% concur. Nearly $0.50 cheaper per gallon in Minden, NV than in CA, and even more if you compare to places like Bridgeport or Lee Vining. But then I did notice the air is suddenly cleaner and the roads smoother on the south side of the CA agricultural checkpoint ;-)
