Delicious bean and cheese borritos !!

Post by justm »

I found some dehydrated refried beans that are the real deal, Mexicali Rose-homestyle refried beans. Rehydrate the beans at camp, scoop onto a tortilla add cheese and a few taco bell hot sauce packets, wrap it in foil and place it near your camp fire to melt the cheese, YUM !! I place the rest of the rehydrated beans in a ziplock bag for bean and cheese borritos for lunch on the trail.

I am going to try this. I'll end up eating it in a bowl with tortilla pieces ripped up In it though. Less chance of dripping "Bear Attractor" on myself.

Sorry, but I have to say that any food described as 'The Real Deal Mexican Food' does not contain any ingredients from Taco Bell :puke:

They may be good, but they ain't Mexican!

I'm still rather convinced that you can achieve more than you've ever dreamed of if you just lower your standards.

Yes! One of my favorite backpacking meals is just this.

Tortilla + baby bell cheese + Santa Fe Bean Co Instant Southwestern Style Refried Beans + tapatio (repacked in a food tube) = Pure Heaven.

Hi Brownbat,

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
