T.R -Lyell Canyon to Donohue Pass - June 7-9, 2013

Post by hamsterfish »

Did a brief weekend trip in Yosemite a few weeks back (June 7,8,9). Started at Tuolomne Meadows, up Lyell Canyon to Donohue Pass and then back.
Temps were 80's most of the time with a few light rain/hail storm that lasted about 5 minutes.
Crowds were minimal, mosquitoes were moderate. We were warned it was very muddy...but only found a few muddy spots that were easy to walk around.

Here's a video we did:

Hamster,

Great video. It is a good thing you guys are not affected by whiskey! :)

Cool video TR!

A few things:
1. I about jumped out of my chair at The Joy Formidable
2. All of your music was awesome.
3. You are a nut.

I may attempt a video TR this summer using my LX7 and Pentax K7 though that would chew up a lot of battery over 7 days...

Thanks! :) I'm still really new at camera stuff.
Glad I'm not the only backpacker who likes that kind of music! I try to only use songs that are stuck in my head at the time.
I'm pretty new at camera stuff...This trip I used a gopro and a Canon G15. With all the time lapse shots, I went through 3 gopro batteries for this trip alone! So bring spares for sure.

After watching this, I just cannot wait to get back for another mind-body-soul purification effort in the Sierra; what were you using that whiskey for?
The Bearikade apparently did the trick? Didn't have to share a single drop with those clever beasts, or did you?

Yep I've taken the bearikade on about a dozen trips and it does the trick.
It's lighter than Garcia designs, etc. The only bummer is the edges are kinda sharp and are wearing into my backpack.

Another fun video Chris, thanks for sharing it.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
