Kool day hike Dizzy, but way to pretty to spend only a day in.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Silverfox,
Mosquitos is there waiting for you, so take some repellent or face mask. They're not too bad as long as you moving, but if you stop 1 minute later swarm of them will try to eat you. Upper lakes Cecile and Iceberg is certanly better then Minaret, Ediza and Shadow.
But, its beautiful out there and worth going now,
Alex

I am surprised to see so much snow around Iceberg, which looks like it is still frozen over. Looks like the melt is not as far ahead of schedule as I would have thought. Thank you for sharing!

I know 2011 was unique, but dang, there's currently less snow at Minaret then there was in late August 2011.

Thanks for sharing. Yes, it's a great place to spend more time in, but what a fantastic Sierra day hike.

Thanks for sharing! I've been looking for 2013 info on Iceberg lake. Looks like there's still plenty of snow, so I guess I won't be taking my first-timer on that route!
