I was thinking of doing it from Wright Lakes basin as well, but after talking to people I am considering doing it as a dayhike loop over Rockwell Pass that gets me on the standard route up Tyndall and then I'll just bomb down the SW slope back to camp.

I did the same, climbed the classic cl2-3 north rib and descended the "easy" talus slope. After going down those boulders, I would not choose to go up that way (ugh!), unless you do not feel you have the rock scrambling skills to do the better classic route.
