Anyone know any good day hikes around Florence? Good camping sites by the lake? Thanks.

Take the four-mile trail around the west side of the lake. Good fishing under the bridge.

Dutch, Hidden, and Crater Lakes might be worth checking out.

What about some good camp sites around the lake or near it?

Jackass Meadows campground is just below the dam. It was closed after the 2011 high water, but I think its open now. One can disperse camp along the road on the way in and theres lots of good spots, but you need a campfire permit. Not sure what the status is on campfire permits with the dry weather.

Checked on the National Forest page, didn't see anything about fire restrictions except for some of the PCT; anyone know for Florence?
