Yosemite 4/29-5/1

Post by Wandering Daisy »

Here are some photos of my trip. Backpacked up to Dewey, Crocker and Sanford Point, camped on Sanford Point. Next day returned to Valley and hiked the valley floor loop from the backpackers campground to El Cap Meadows and back. Third day hiked to top of Yosemite Falls.

Thanks for posting the pics. Looks like there is not much snow up there.

Beautiful photos. I love the valley floor loop. We make sure to do it every time we are in the valley. Great views and very few people.

Glacier Point road and Tioga road open toady- neither was open when I was there. Backpacker's campground was open, nearly empty. Four Mile Trail was not officially open but free of snow - probably open now. Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil are past peak flows. Not sure about the Merced. In the Valley it is fluctuating about a foot during the day. Still WAY below what it was last year this time. The walkway under the bridge at North Pines Campground is above water level. There is no flooding in the Valley at all.

Thank you for the great pictures! Where is the snow? :(

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I just figured out how to load full size pictures from the new Photobucket, so here are the two of Yosemite Falls photos that got the bottoms cut off when I posted the trip report.
