Big Agnes Q - Core SL

Post by overheadx2 »

I have gotten pretty tired of hearing crackling every time I turn on my Neo Air so I checked out the new BA Q Core SL at REI this weekend. I really liked the weight, thickness, r value of 5 and the lateral tubes seem to keep you centered pretty well. Before I throw good money after bad, any one have any reviews or observations. Thanks, Phil

Check the size inflated, I read they are undersized. I have a Big A q core and really love it and want the SL but can't have a too narrow pad.

Thanks, after checking that it looks like that is a problem. I'll go to REI and recheck the numbers.

Try an Exped DownMat UL 7 (R 5.9) 2.8", bought one last year and love it.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Bring a tape and measure it inflated.

I was looking at the exped, but liked the 3.5 inch pad. Ill probably go back to the exped. I sure would have been disappointed had Rockchucker not said something

I think that they made it thinner so that it would still fit in the bag with the 3.5 inch depth.
