Mineral King –Franklin–Sawtooth Loop (28 Miles)
August 8 to 13, 2011

Day 1: Mineral King Trail Head to Franklin Lake (5 miles)
Day 2: Franklin Lake to Little Claire lake (6.4 miles)
Day 3: Little Claire Lake to Lake 10,100: (7 miles)
Day 4: Day hike to Little Five Lakes.
Day 5: Lake 10,100 to Monarch Lake: (6.7 mile)
Day 6: Monarch Lake to Mineral King: (3 miles)

nick,
I was admiring the clear, blue skies, and then when the snow and ice started appearing in photos along with reports of skeeters I figured it must not be 2012. Yes, inedeed! Regardless, I hope you've gotten in a trip that was nearly as much fun this year. For me, rain replaced the bugs...

That was a nice 28 mile trip. Mineral King is a special place. I know that country well (ranger at Trout Mdws) and its definitely beautiful country. It was nice that we stopped the proposed ski resort. It could have made things different in Mineral King, etc.
