NAP/OAP

Post by Mradford »

Any recent conditions on New army or Old army? Heading up that way next weekend and just wondering what miter basin is looking like with snow or not.

Thanks

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I just got back from Miter Basin. We went up to Sky Blue and there was no snow to speak of.

Here is picture taken from Cirque Peak on June 3 of the top of NAP and Mt Langley. Kind of hazy from the George fire

I went over OAP and up Langley yesterday (6/16/12). There are a couple short stretches of snow. The lower one can be easily avoided. The second one, near the top of the pass requires crossing, however it wasn't difficult going up or down. It is fairly short (50'?) I didn't use any aids (trekking poles, etc) although they might be useful.
