Managed to get the crew up to Kibbie Lake this weekend. Got to say I was impressed by such a nice lake for such a short hike. 80 degrees at the TH Friday, probably just as warm at the lake. Met a number of kayakers that had to pull out of descending Cherry Creek due to high runoff. No snow was seen anywhere near Kibbie. Just very pleasant weather with hordes of mosquitos in the evening. Fishing was good, but the trout seemed to be distracted by all the bugs in the water, so hits weren't as common as we would like. Nonetheless, my two novice trout fishermen were able to catch their first sierra trout. The trail to Kibbie had some deadfalls, but was easily passible. Here are a few photos:

Wonder if you were the group my girlfriend and I ran into on the trail back. Definitely a nice weekend up at Kibbie!

Two of my team came in Saturday morning. One was tall with a beard, the other stockier. Was that them?

We didn't see anyone (aside from two rangers driving up to the trailhead) on the way up, but passed a group of 3 gents taking a break at a creek crossing just below the lake on our way out Sunday morning. Only saw two groups at the lake - one on the slabs closer towards the outlet, and another on the slabs near the burned area on the NW. We split the difference and didn't hear from either group all afternoon/night...it was a good weekend!
