REI dividends are out, 20% member sale starts tomorrow

Post by Carne_DelMuerto »

Go crazy. My steadfast use of my REI Visa for everything last year has earned me a new backpack. Too bad they don't carry Bearikades...

Wow I can't believe it. Only $20 bucks this year. Guess I bought too much stuff on sale!

I got the biggest dividend check ever for me... not sure if that's totally a good thing because it means I spent a lot this year, but I also racked up the points by using the REI VISA card.

Regardless...I get to do some REI shopping. I just can't think of anything I need, other than a long-handled titanium spoon! LOL!

$381.66, so I got a Black Diamond Raven Pro Ice Axe to replace my heavy dinosaur axe. I'm sure I'll find more to buy. Scott's hasn't come in yet, but I get his too. :D I have the REI Visa, so most of it was for gas, groceries, season pass, car insurance, etc.

We're also REI Visa users so while not quite as much as Snowy, we're close. I'm getting Zamberlain 298 Tundra hiking boots to replace my worn out and inadequate ones. With the rest, we'll have to see what else - probably a lot of less expensive things from a hat to food. And if it comes to it at the end of the year, the rest in cash.

Yah, Cori, my dividend is about what your's is... I've only had this REI VISA for about a year, but credit does add up! Plus, I've still got a gift card from Christmas. I just really think I'm set (gear-wise) for this summer, so I'll just keep it "banked"... I think the dividend is good for 2 years.

BTW... Cori, did you notice this was your 2,000 post!! =D>

I think the dividend is good til end of this year. What we do is buy gift cards, then its good for whenever. I still have gift cards from Scott's dividend last year. I'm set on gear too, but the clothes (rain pants, gloves, socks, etc) wear out so I'll replace stuff like that. I replaced my snowshoes last year with lighter ones.

Yeah, I haven't posted much lately since I haven't done a lot of Sierra stuff. No snowboarding since xmas, and baby hikes between Physical Therapy. When I get thru injuries I'll post more.
