A few of us went up Old Baldy on the "Manker Flats Loop", basically it is up the Ski Hut Trail, across and up the Baldy Bowl trail. We exited via the Devil's Backbone Trail and decided, due to a few folks having sore feet and knees, to take the skil lift down. Not liking heights, this was a true experience, going down a lift...I found this part far more "interesting" than any part of the trail...whew.
Weather was perfect. Only drawback was the ladybug swarm at the summit, and one of our party had to turn around at the Ski Hut due to a previous engagement. Otherwise, great trip, great trail, great time.

Thanks. Saw you took a trip up Meysan as well on the MWPS...cool shots. Were you using crampons or just being careful...?

I originally packed for an overnighter, then got a call with change of plans to do a dayclimb instead. When I repacked, I forgot to take my crampons out. But BobR said I'd be ok without them (I don't think they carried theirs either). Turns out the snow was nice the whole day.
It was a VERY cool trip!
