Eastern Sierra High Res Panoramas

Post by steelfrog »

Howdy. I thought you all might like to see some panoramas done by my buddy Lance Snead on our August trip tot he Eastern Sierra. They are pretty dang incredible. Especially good, IMO, are the Wanda Lake, Palisades from Dusy Basin, Tioga Peak/Pass, Bishop Pass.

Also note, he has TRs to the trip and to a Willow Lake trip we took on the right side.

above images are easily stitched in Photoshop with photomerge.

for super high rez you need other tools, such as ICE or Gigapan's software. Then there are the geek tools that let you do focal depth composites and HDR, etc. but you almost need a unix degree to figure them out.

None of these are perfect, but for a simple pano made from a few photos, you don't need more than a recent copy of photoshop.
