Last year we did a family hike and went to the First Lake. Does anyone know if there are campsites at 2nd or thrd Lakes?

I remember campsites off the trail to the north side of Second Lake. Plenty of campsites at 3rd Lake

Several campsites at second lake. Here are some photos from a short trip to Second lake a few years back (we camped at the northwest end of the lake).

Only problem with the first lakes is how bad the glacial till is in the water at certain times of the year (as you can sort of tell from the above pictures link). Don't know how good that is for you. Filter. The upper lakes have the best camping, very good camping in fact. It is a pretty easy day-hike to get up there, even to the highest trailed lake.

There are some good camp sites at Second Lake, some in the trees and some open spots over looking the lake, you just have to go off trail a little to find them. Here's a pic of my camp on the bluffs over looking Second Lake,
(lower left), very cool spot. I'm heading up there this Friday, just might camp in that same spot.

Plenty of sites at or near third lake, I love awakening to temple crag in the morning.

Depending on the time of the year Sam Mack Meadow is much colder and more exposed, had to move back down to third lake once for a more comfortable camp.
