Langley via New Army Pass

Post by Rainman »

I am planning to day hike from Long Lake in the Cottonwood Lakes basin up to Mt. Langley. I would love to hear some information that tells me I DON"T need crampons. Any one recently been up to Langley?

Langley didn't even require crampons back in mid-June. The bigger obstacle is New Army Pass, but I'm sure that's not a problem by now.

Should be all melted out by now. There were two 30-70ft snow traverses with well kicked steps on July 15th and crampons weren't needed then. Army pass on the other hand was a solid snow climb. Keep in mind these pics are three weeks old.
