To those who will be following my tracks. According to Doug at the White Mtn. Ranger office this morning: There will be about 5 to 6 patches of snow between Upper Lamarck and the Col. for a combined distance of about a 1/2 mile of snow on the trail. The lakes in the Darwin Banch are no longer frozen over. Snow drifts at each lake on the north side where the so called trail goes by. (That sounds like last year). Helen Lake and Wanda Lake are still frozen over. Crampons/Ice Axe wasn't needed. Reccomends the use of trekking poles. Skeeters were still not in abundance. I'll report more when I get back. A safe trip to all where ever you may be headed!
