Gianelli Cabin Trailhead

Post by FolsomBrad »

I'm thinking of going from Gianelli Cabin (above Pinecrest) to either Chewing Gum Lake or Granite Lake this coming weekend (7/30-31). I'm wondering if anyone has been up there recently and how much snow they encountered. Also, can you get to the trailhead, and if not, how close can you get? Finally, how were the mosquito's?

I was up there last weekend and the trailhead was still closed due to snow. But the ranger said the offending snowdrift was a mere ~300 ft from the trailhead. I imagine it's melted out by now, but call to be sure.
