sunrise and volgesang (yosemite) snow cover

Post by adam »

Hello,

Does anyone out there have recent information about snow cover on the JMT between Cathederal-Sunrise-Tenaya; as well as the Lyell canyon-Vogelsang-Raferty creek loop? Also, is the sunrise creek crossing just a matter of getting wet, or is it running more dangerously high? I saw a recent update on the back country conditions thread suggesting patchy snow around sunrise, but haven't been able to find anything about voglesang.

A friend of mine wrote for advice about scenic trail runs in the area, and I would send him to those two routes if they're either snow-free, or mostly so- I don't think he would mind navigating some patches or muddy feet, but if it's more snow than trail, it would probably be better going elsewhere.

thanks very much in advance!
