Hiking out of Agnew meadows July 6 (spending four nights)

Post by Smnold »

I'll do my best to post some pictures and skeeter reports once I return on 7-11. I'm leaving out of Agnew Medows July 6 with a couple different idea's. Nothing set in stone. I may try to stop by 1000 island, Garnet or Ediza if possible. Depending on the snow levels and trail conditions I may set up base camp around Shadow.

Stay tuned ...

We'll be about 2 days behind you, doing the same trip. I'm thinking the lakes over 9500 will be frozen. I know camping isn't allowed at Shadow itself, are there any good spots nearby?

I may be heading that way on the 9th. Just beyond the west end of Shadow are camp sites. Others are nearby, from 1 to 2 miles. Snow may complicate things.

Hi Mountainmatty

Welcome to HST!
Things will look better by the time you get there, but current conditions look like

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Well, hitting the trail at Agnew Meadows tomorrow, going out to 1000 Island Lake, but we will see what the conditions give us. Should be interesting.
