Time to be a trail rat

Post by RoguePhotonic »

Well tomorrow is the day! Heading out to tackle this beast of a hike. What will happen is anyone's guess. I hope everyone has a good Sierra summer and I will try to post with updates on my progress when ever I have internet although I don't think I will have any until I reach VVR at 47 days in.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Safe travels. Hope it's epic.

Wish you luck. Watch those stream crossings and rock slides. I'm still somewhat concerned even about my early Aug. start. You won't get this, but those high country crossing will be pumping after this weekend's heat and the days to come if this weather pattern holds... There's still plenty of snow in the high country.

I know Rogue IRL, and got a call today. On day 2, one of two of his pants (Marmot Essence, 5 oz, brand new for the trip) had already ripped. Looks like I'll be driving down to Kings Canyon next week to drive him into town to buy something more burlier. We were considering of meeting on the same day/weekend prior to the beginning of his trip so we could watch Harry Potter, but turned down the idea due to gas cost. Looks like it'll happen anyway.
