Lake Sabrina/South Lake Basin Conditions

Post by scottg1178 »

Hello,

I'm headed up to the Mountains above Bishop (Lake Sabrina and South Lake Basin) this weekend and wanted to see what kind of conditions I am going to run into. Has anyone been hiking recently out of these Basin's? We usually hike up to Long Lake and above so i'm curious if it is completly frozon. We also like the hike to Treasure Lakes...as well as many others in that area. Just want to see how accessible they are and the conditions of the lakes, curious to know if fishing is possible yet. Both roads to Lake Sabrina and South Lake are open....and I believe North Lake road is open as well. Would love to hear from anyone who has gone hiking lately in this area.

I will post next week how my trip went.

I would also like to know what conditions are from bishop pass to mt agassiz.

I was at Lake sabrina and North lake 2 weeks ago.
North lake road open.Plenty of snow then just above north lake.
Trails from lake sabrina were snow covered after 2miles in.
