Fun Event Facts:

# In five years, Vertical Cure has raised $100,000 for the Scleroderma Foundation.

# Local Mammoth resident Joey Merten turned in an outstanding effort with a record 71 sponsors and $4,374 in donations in 2006-a truly special effort.

# Vertical Cure participants have skied 5,319,727 feet (1,011 miles)

# Chris Corman is the all-time Vertical leader with descents totaling 316,650 ft!

# Aaron Wilczek holds the all time vertical descents record, skiing 83,440 ft in one day!

# Corinne Newton holds the snowboard record of 71,860 ft in 2005

Vertical Cure, a charity event created to raise awareness and money for Scleroderma, celebrated its fifth anniversary with another great event.

With a record snowfall year, and 12 inches of fresh powder, Chris Corman and Kurt Uyeda led the charge skiing 68,900 vertical feet during the event. Joey Merten was the Sponsor and Donation champion raising nearly $4,500 with 71 sponsors.

Everyone contributed in a major way with the average participant delivering $705 in sponsors.

This year, the team skied 747,090 feet and raised $24,000 for the cause. In total, Vertical Cure has now donated $100,000 to the Scleroderma Foundation.

Thanks to everyone for participating! It was a great time for a great cause!

Well Done!! Next week end is our "Relay For Life" cancer fund raiser... I hope we do as well as your organization! In addition to the "relay"events going on, my belly-dance group will be performing Saturday as part of the on-going entertainment; it should be a really fun weekend! :nod:

Thanks Greg and SnowNymph! As I said - if we can raise close to what you raised, SnowNymph, it will be considered a success!

And yeah... The performance will be fun too. I love to dance - African Dance is my favorite, but Belly-dance and Ballet are not too far behind. :)
