Met Sooz on Friday just off Hwy 395 and headed to Centennial Canyon
to check out some petroglyphs that I found there a month ago while
hunting for an aircraft crash site that's in the area. We also found a
lot of others along with a group of wild horses.
The next morning we met Cori (Snow Nymph) for a hike to Jurassic
and Scattered Bone Peaks. Fun weekend, photos at

Beautiful area, great weather and a fun day of hiking! Thanks for coming up with the idea, Sooz!

WingDing, temps were at 70 deg when I checked mid day. I kept my long sleeved shirt on for sun protection, but Sooz had hers on and off. So much nicer than the previous week!

Upper Centennial Springs, the l-o-n-g way.

Mtflyer and Trailtrekkers description of their hike on Friday sounded like something I had to do, so Joe gave me his map and one of the road leading to it. Turns out I had been here in the early 90s.
Plan was to hike to the petroglyphs, then bag 2 peaks by yesterdays hike. I took the wrong canyon, had little info on this hike, but figured out what I did and found the petroglyphs, 15 wild horses, 2 colts and a donkey (looked like they adopted it), and ran into 2 snakes on the way. Awesome hike!
