x-country skiing today

Post by oldranger »

Went skiing near Santiam Pass today with a couple of other retired old farts. The prediction was for snow! There were about 4 inches of new over night when we started and another 2 or 3 inches fell during the two and a half hour ski. Wind probably averaged 20 mph with gusts double that. None of us could figure out who's idea it was to go out on such a nasty day. Sometimes the visibility was zero.

Once in a while you could even see ahead.

I think we all agreed that the highlight of the day was lunch and brew at Three Creeks Brewing Company in Sisters.

I did learn something on this trip: The more pics you take the less you have to break trail! :D

Who can't do everything he used to and what he can do takes a hell of a lot longer!
