Taking the High Ground (cool Sierra photos)

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

The Chinooks and aircrews from B Company of the 1st Battalion, 126th GSAB out of Stockton, Calif., regularly train in the mountains due to their close proximity to the terrain. Skip Robinson Photo.

Interesting read. The captions claim they were working in whiteout conditions but the photos look like bluebird days. Does whiteout mean something else when flying a helicopter?

Thanks for posting.
