Favorite of 2010

Post by maverick »

Well it is that time again, this years best photo, and it is a beauty!
Shot from one of my favorite spots, especially during this years lightening
extravaganza, the Wildcat Point area really gave me some marvelous photo
opportunities to take advantage of.
This is a multi-shot (8), time lapse panorama, that turned out even better than
expected.
It measures 18"x 76", and was the center piece of my show this month.
The detail is incredible, and it really feels like you are at the edge of the cliffs
of the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne looking south towards Tuolumne Meadow
Kuna Crest, and the Cathedral Range.

My website is: http://WildernessApertures.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where you can find this, and many
other photo's in my purchasing gallery, enjoy!

Wow, that is a winner. The "top" and "bottom" of the lightening strikes appear to be "balls". Is that a real effect, or does it have something to do with the post processing ?

I haven't gone any where Stretchman, sent you a PM.

Tom, the little ball like effects are when the lightning passes through ice crystals
that formed within the clouds, at least this is the explanation I got from a meteorologist
friend of mine.
