Any HST artists out there?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Kind of quiet here recently, understandable with the winter weather...schools are on break.

Anyway, I have been spending some of my spare time doing watercolors and sketching...
Not a photographer...My son gave me a new digital camera for Xmas...still figuring best way to use it but...

I offer a few of this year's attempts at art.
Anybody else have anything to offer...feel free!
Mark

Beautiful, Mark. But then I've been blessed by seeing most of your work, and your pencil drawings are really good as well. Please post more.

Little disappointed in lack of artists here...
I always thought that backpacking was ethereal, lending itself to the arts.

No matter, I have enough work finished, (and with this economy, not sold) to throw a few on each day for a month.

Nice stuff, Marksor. Thanks for letting us see it. I'm afraid I'm not an artist. I do take some photos, but that's a whole different ballgame...
Check our our website: http://www.backpackthesierra.com/
Or just read a good mystery novel set in the Sierra; https://www.amazon.com/Danger-Falling-R ... 0984884963

Wow, great art work. So many hidden talents here on HST. A few times I've seen artist deep in the backcountry doing art (oil, plein aire, etc.). Always admired that - quiet time in the mountains doing something so enjoyable. Unfortunately, I have no such talent - but my brother does. ;)

Anyway, your art reminds me very much of my brothers work (http://www.artbyscott.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), for example:

I couldn't draw/paint something like that in a million years. I have a tough time with photography at times...LOL!
