Merry Christmas

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

This Xmas, I walked up Snow Mtn (7,000'), again (every Xmas), but this time in the rain. The day before, I walked up Sonoma Mtn (2,400').

As I walked, let me say, I thought about ya'll and what u'd be doing on these shortist days of the year, and I thought hard that ya'll would be happy. For me, I can hardly wait until early Apr when the days are opening early. Then, mid May, when I get to go to Tehipite. Dern, you hate to think the days go so fast, but as they fly by, you love to see that date for a trip come. Then its gone, and your sitting there looking at your pics, thinking "where did those days go?" And then its winter again and we're waiting for the snow to melt. Waiting for the good days to come. Waiting for the day to walk up Abbott, or Muir, or Tyndall, or Junction, or Langley, or ... whatever...

I am really uncomfortable when its dark from 5 pm to 7 am. So I'm bummed...
