dmatt / Tioga Pass is OPEN

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Should remain so until sometime on Friday or Saturday; then a storm moves in...

I wish they'd keep their road status page at http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/conditions.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; up to date. For grins, I called the number yesterday and they were saying it was closed. This storm will probably close it for the season..

Edit: 11/17 at noon, the status flipped to "open".. quite the delay in an update.

Thanks..

I'm betting the Tioga road is closed for the season after this storm. From the CDEC Tioga station, it looks like they easily got 10" so far, and they had some on the ground already, and it's not done yet. The station is near the Tioga Entry point and can be found at http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryF?TES" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
