The Hikin' Mike Update Thread

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Buck sent me a PM immediately after I posted so I thought he was the only one that cared. :) Snow Nymph just sent a couple to me. Not sure what the deal is. I will PM you guys the addy, or e-mail to those that posted an e-mail. I didn't want to post it publically and I won't send it to brand new users I don't recognize.:) Until last night, I hadn't received PM's from anyone but Buck.

I spoke with Mike on the phone today...things are going well.
He just arrived back home today.

His left knee is still a source of pain....but the new right knee is much better and coming along nicely. So I think he is looking forward to the second surgery.

Mike said he would try to get online tomorrow or the next day.

He also mentioned getting your card Mountaineer....I sent him one also
with a couple of pix of Yosemite inside. He said my photos were OK but not quite as good as his...that's when I knew he was feeling much better

I think he's been milking this thing :D

I'm back!!

My surgery went well and they tell me my recovery is going as expected. My left knee is now the major source of pain. I'm currently trying to rebuild the muscle strength in my right leg. I don't expect to walk unaided until my othe knee is done. The surgery date for that is June 30.

Thanks to all for the cards, prayers and encouragement...it really means a lot!
