Where can I find the snow depth and data information??

Post by Trailguru »

I've seen it before several times but now that I'm trying to look for it I can't find it

There is a State map published by the Dept of Water Resources but I can't find it on their site. I can only type specific stations one at a time but there used to be (hopefully it still exists) where you can see the entire state and from there choose the region. From each region you can look up different stations such as Sabrina Lake area and etc.. Any Help??

When you get into the CDEC webpage, on the left bar, go to the "station locator" and click on this. Then you click on the map to zoom in and scoot east and west, north and south using arrows. Soon you will find the area you want. Then click on the station to get the data.

This will take you right to the Ca. Dept. of water resources snowpack page:

http://cdec.water.ca.gov/snow/current/snow/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This will take you straight to the real-time snow sensor list, arranged by river drainages. If you click on the ID of any of the stations, you can see the station info, inlcuding a map of the area which will help you find other stations close by that might be useful.
