I am working a car show in Laughlin NV on the 11th and DV is my route back.
It is a standard drill. Last year iot took me 5 hours to go 10 miles due to the wildflowers. This year I would like to do a hike that runs 6-7 hours. I should hit DV around 10 AM via the south 190 route. I have done the usual touristy stuff, the Golden Canyon, Wonder Mine, the Crater, Marble Canyon, Titus Canyon, Telscope Peak. Eureka Dunes, and few X country day hikes last year to get the wildflowers. My Hike Photos
Just looking for a different situation to go hiking in. I wil be in 2WD, so that will limit my off road excursions. I have a GPS, actually 2 Garmins, so I can deal with coordinates. I can hike until dark and easily capable of 20 milers(Marathoner )
Thanks in advance
Going to Death Valley - March 12th - Need some solo hiking i

Here's a list of peaks with pics that I've done that are off the main road. Some are short, but there are no trails (except Wildrose/Telescope Pks). I can give more detail if you see something you like.

That's about my pace too.
Maybe you can try bagging 2-3 peaks in a day? Snwburd and his gang do that

Sorry I did not respond sooner. As it turns out the crappy weather put a damper on anything serious. It was excellent in Death Valley, but from Bakersfielsd and beyond and I knew that was going to be an ugly ride back to the Bay Area. I was right, it was down right nasty in some spots.
However, I am planning on a DV trip in teh next few weeks, so I will take advantage of the advice then.
