What peaks are in this photo?

Post by oldranger »

The attached telephoto was taken from the ridge between Upper Isberg and Maclure Lakes looking toward the SE. The photo is looking into an area I am not real familiar with. As I recall I thought one peak might be Red Slate but that is just a guess.

hwy395...

Thanks
The shoulder of Sadler is the granite on the lower left of the photo. What I'm really interested in are the peaks on the skyline.

Hi, Mike,

My guess is the one on the left is Red Slate, and on the right, Red-and-White Mountain.

Happy Holidays up there in Oregon!

ok.. not sure where Iron mountain came from.. it depends on where you actually were. I'd guess again at Triple-divide and Merced Peaks.

I'm with Timerline: left peak is Red-Slate (the north facing couloir is a prominant feature) , right is Red and White.

Wow I had no idea Red and White would stick out that much from the N! Here is another tele of the same peaks + a couple of others. Taken from Blue Lake Pass. NE a couple of miles from the first photo. Russ this one includes Iron, I think, near the right hand side of the photo, relatively close.

Rarely visited Little Iron, and Iron Lake look like this, with Iron Mountain almost coming
right out of the lake.

And on the eastern side there big sister beautiful Ashley Lake.
