I just ordered Sigma's 10-20mm for my SD-14. We'll see if it helps at all. :)

This is one of my favorite areas. Took these last year. Where is it?

Nice shots.
Well let's see. I'm just going to say south of Lee Vining and north of Mammoth

View is better if one gets out and walks above the end of the jeep road to the little sagebrush knob, topo point 8251. If one hits that spot at peak there are actually lots of nice orange foliage aspen on those slopes. Usually the backdrop of Mt W is however mediocre as it is too dark. Thus optimal situation would be to be there the morning after such a snow dusting.

Dave, that top one is taken from that knob. I am not even sure which mountain that is but just to the left and a long way down is Grant lake.

Here are a couple more from the same area last year.

In this picture, you can see the knob Dave mentioned at the left edge of the photo about 1/3 from the bottom. At least I think that is the knob. I hiked up there from the "end of the road" as far as two-wheel drive is concerned.

We just returned from Yosemite Valley where the Big Leaf Maples are going off. The oaks are coming on as well, some dogwoods though many look a bit brown. Many nice leaves on the ground.

I posted a few photos here http://dittli.wordpress.com

Wow! Awesome. Now I know why I am still a lowly amateur and others are professionals.
