First bag night in over 4 years!

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

First bag night in over 4 years!

Post by Hikin Mike »

Had a chance to spend two nights at Lower Pines in Yosemite with a friend. We're both somewhat "handicapped" and "Been there, done that", so we 'chilled' in the campground for two days talking. I was going to go to Lundy Canyon before going home, but decided against it since my wife wasn't familiar with it and I was by myself, so I drove Tioga road....just because.

Thank you for the fine photos again. What is the first photo of? A teapot, I don't see a spout.
Piece of cake.

It's my MSR teapot but the spout is hidden. I don't care for tea, I use it to boil water for coffee! :unibrow:

Congratulations Mike! :D
I am so happy you are back out in the wilds again!
It might only be a slight comfort but your story and the story of others that have contracted Lyme disease has raised awareness among the hiker crowd as well as doctors. The symptoms can be baffling to many.. even doctors!
This year several hikers got bit by ticks and developed the tell tale "bullseye" ring that precedes infection. Luckily they caught it early and got treatment(antibiotics). The trailangel "MountainGoat" even made flyers warning of the ticks and detailing the symptoms, posting them at trail heads along the PCT.
The only reason I knew what to watch out for was because I knew about Hikin' Mike.
I know that ain't much comfort to you, but you might have helped a lot of people just by telling your story on HST.
Cheers Bro!
You can make more money, but you can't make more time.
