I was hoping we would actually get a trip report after that guessing game! :)
The pictures are sublime.

Thanks Q, though Zenfolio's colors nor black & whites do not turn out as vivid as the
origionals.

Thanks for the report Mav!I really like the photo of the sunset (one of those sunsets that make your jaw drop) from Cathedral Lakes.

As an aside:

What browser are you using? This could be a case of a browser that is not color managed and not directly related to zenfolio.

Didn't get to see the pics :( The climb of Matthes Crest is a classic. Not hard especially and really an unusual position and geological feature. A few years back my wife and I got almost caught by a storm up there, we had to race off the southern end, and carrying a rack of hardware sure provides motivation for speed...

Thanks! Wow-za! Great shots of a spectacular place. One of my favorite all time day hikes is up to Budd Lake, over Echo Pass, cross-over the north edge of Matthes and drop into the basin on the east side of the Crest, head south all the way around the bottom, work your way back west to the JMT going north, stop for a swim at Cathedral Lake and then head for the car.

I finally made it to this site! I was the woman camped close by you at lower Cathedral the night before/after the storm - wonderful sunset - even I got some lovely shots. Would love to see yours - any chance of unlocking them for a day or so? Thanks so much - Barbara
