"Climbing Mt Whitney" by Peter Croft (and Wynne Be

Post by Snow Nymph »

A few months ago I got an e-mail from Wynne Benti asking if she could use photos from my website for the book "Climbing Mt Whitney" by Peter Croft. There are 8 photos from my website in the book. Four taken by me, two taken by SnowDude, one taken by Calhiker and one taken by Bishophiker. We are in the photos, so check it out if you get a chance!

OT: SnowDude got an e-mail early this year from a band called the Tornados (old surf band). They asked if they could use his "Funnel Cloud on Rockwell Pass" picture for their CD, so here it is!

Wow, that is so cool.

I think a hearty "congratulations" is in order. Now I'm going to have to buy the book just for the worthy photos.

That is pretty cool. You never know who will come across your images. Did the editor know of you before or did she just happen across your album on webshots? Care to divulge how much they paid per image? Also, could you post links to the pictures they used?

Congratulations!

Wynne Benti did a search and found my photos. She sent an e-mail that went to my "junk e-mail" folder. I happened to check 3 wks later and found it. I replied back, put the images on a CD and delivered it on my way to Mammoth the following week. The contract/check was in an envelope.

Unfortunately, they gave me credit for Bishophikers photo. I made the correction in the draft, but they didn't make the change.

They paid $35/image. I paid Calhiker and Bishophiker for their photos since they were borrowed.

There's one more but I can't find it. I'll look tomorrow when I'm more awake. G'nite!

Cool. I know Peter and you should be proud to be associated with him in this way. I can't wait to read the guide, his last one was absolutely hilarious with all his wisecracks and anecdotes.
