Check out this tent I designed and made...

Post by balzaccom »

Here are a few shots of the tent that I designed and made from some waterproof ripstop I found at Walmart for $2 a yard, and some mosquito netting. The roof wraps right around the foot of the tent and becomes the floor…and the netting wraps around everything else. Weight, with aluminum poles, is a little over three pounds.

That's pretty awesome. Just the type of design that I prefer as well. Good job!

Cool!!

When are you going retail with it?

It looks similar to a concept I tried several years ago, but could not make it work right, so gave up. I am glad you were successful. Great minds think alike, but you obviously think better than I.

BTW -- what are the supports?

Not going retail--I already run my own business, and that's enough work for one man!

I bought the poles from the Wilderness Exchange in Berkeley--a great store that has used equipment and lots of parts. So I just figured out what I needed and cut to fit.
