Not my best, but one that seems to epitomize much of 2005 hiking.
Trail junction at top of Yosemite falls,~7000ft, the last week of May.

so many beautiful pictures. It almost seems like a High Sierra Topix Coffee Table Book of Sierra Nevada Photographs might be in order. :)

My favourite 2005 photo

My favourite Sierras photo this year is a tie between two, one of Half Dome

and one of the Mount Whitney range

My favourite photo for 2005 is outside of the Sierras, but you can click on the link if you're interested (http://crypto.stanford.edu/%7Eeujin/pic ... _3053.html)

Not as beautiful as many of the photos posted, but this campsite is one of the most beautiful I have ever experienced in over 18 years of exploring the southern Sierras. Taken August 2005 from one of the Vidette Basin Lakes looking towards the Kearsarge Pinnacles. A distant forest fire caused the background haze taken near sunset. My old camera was a Cannon Powershot. This year, I hope to capture more impressive images with my new Nikon D50/18-200 mm d-SLR. Having a d-SLR has gotten my old photography juices flowing again. I had forgotten how much fun I used to have shooting TTL photography!

Ahh a stale thread that I missed during winter ski season. Very nice pics everybody above.

The best Sierra Nevada image last year for me was from this 4x5 Provia that has been drum scanned, processed, master printed, and is available on my website as a huge detailed Lightjet print. I have too many reflections images from 1000 Island Lake over many trips from the last three decades but the one below from this 2005 trip offered exceptional clouds. Yes given enough chances the law of averages tends to pay off.
