Howdy from the Pacific Crest Trail
Hi Y'all! It's your old buddy Hetchy at mile 780 on the PCT. Just survived Mt Whitney and the climb over Forester Pass in whiteout conditions. My blog is on Postholer.com I am user Matt Edwards.
I have some pictures there. I wish I could post more but my time is running short on this here public computer. I am totally stoked to finally be travelling the Sierra after 700 miles of desert hiking!. Though I gotta tell you the San Jacintos and Mt Jenkins environs were pretty spectacular.
I am zeroing in Bishop for a few days to recover some body weight and sew my gear back together after the 5 days of snow and hail on the way up. I will be back on trail at Kearsarge pass Saturday and on my way towards Mammoth which is my next resupply.
Hope to see some HST peeps out on those trails.. don't let that snow scare you away.. just make snowcones with it!
Lots of love to you all and thanks again for all your input during the planning stages of my hike as well as alleviating some of my prehike angst by tolerating my ramblings.(When don't I ramble?!)
I will check back when I am in Mammoth.. that is if they have computers there. Ha!
Cheers-Iceaxe (Hetchy)

Go Hetchy! Bring me some snow cones back. Be safe and have fun!
By the way you have thunderstorms, and snow at higher elevations, thru Wed
at least.
Weird weather for June!

No joke. Good thing you were hardcore about testing your gear at home before the trip! LOLmaverick wrote:Go Hetchy! Bring me some snow cones back. Be safe and have fun!

Hetchy,
Glad to read your trail report. I will be leaving Agnew Meadows on Wed for 1000 island lake. If you see a father/son team who looks lost, say hi. It'll probably be my son and me.
