The Hikin' Mike Update Thread

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Best of luck to you Mike. I've got these 2 Cobalt titanium hip femur spike an socket thingy's, and they're finally feeling pretty good. My new job, pushing a dust mop for 8 hours a day is getting me stronger. (Couldn't do my old job anymore.) Be patient. I know it's hard to do, but it will take some time. I'm with ya Bud, You'll do fine.

Mike, I know where you're coming from. My wife has suffered from Lyme disease for twelve or more years. It was diagnosed much too late for antibiotics to be effective. There was a time when she was so weak I had to push her around in a wheelchair. If you are interested I can point you in the direction of several Internet Lyme support groups. Now, here's the good news. She continues to make progress to the point where I took her on her very first backpacking trip a couple years ago. We hiked three miles to Weaver Lake, spent two nights and hiked back. She made it, albeit with difficulty, which was a milestone. For what it's worth, she has been taking Olive Leaf Extract for a while now and that has made all the difference in the world for her. Well, not really *all* the difference. Our faith in God and His support is what made the whole ordeal bearable. Read Romans 8:28 if you don't already have it memorized. Hang in there.

Mike,
I know you want to keep that hidden spring's location secret...but this is going to extremes.
Hope it all works out for you buddy.
Still waiting...

Thanks again everyone!

Mark, How about 2007?

Bill, I've found a few Lyme boards and they have been helpful.

Mike -
2007 sounds fine...as long as I can bring my 13-year-old son along too.
Got it on my calendar. July?
Keep the faith pal.

July sounds good. I may bring my daughter too. She'll be 9 by then.

I'm holding out the hope to be walking by October, but that may be a bit of wishful thinking.
