Top 10 Ways to Be a Romantic in Yosemite National Park

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif., January 27, 2009 - Looking for a unique way to say "I Love You" this Valentine's Day? Yosemite National Park makes amore easy, with a variety of lodging packages, activities and pre-packaged dining available for the "romantically challenged." Below are ten ways to be a romantic in Yosemite National Park:

1. Take a cross-county ski trip out to the Glacier Point Ski Hut, a stone-and-timber lodge situated at 7,300 feet with breathtaking views of Half Dome, Yosemite Valley and the High Sierra.

2. Pop the question in a way she (or he) will never forget in the elegant, candle-lit Ahwahnee Dining Room or the cozy Mountain Room Restaurant.

3. Snuggle up during a chairlift ride at Yosemite's Badger Pass Ski area, California's first ski resort.

4. Rub noses to stay warm in one of our Curry Village unheated tent cabins. The lodging rate through April 30, 2009 is based on the previous night's low temperature, with a high of $39.

5. Hold hands as you view the wonders of the Park during a two-hour Valley Floor Tour, departing twice daily from Yosemite Lodge at the Falls.

6. Make your sweetie a s'more over the open fire pit inside the Mountain Room Lounge.

7. Ice skate under a moonlit Half Dome, then share a hot cocoa by the fire at the Curry Village outdoor ice rink.

8. Take a jaunt on the miles of secluded snowshoeing and cross-country ski trails, departing from Yosemite's Badger Pass Ski Area.

9. Renew your vows at the picturesque 130-year-old Yosemite Chapel.

10. Experience the ultimate in romance with a Yosemite "Romance Package," now available at the luxurious Ahwahnee, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, and the Victorian Wawona Hotel. Packages feature two-nights' lodging, dinner for two, sparkling wine & flutes, a keepsake gift, nightly turndown service & treat, and best of all, late checkout.
