Secretary of Interior pick

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Secretary of Interior pick

Post by Strider »

It looks like it is between Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) and Mike Thompson (D-CA) both excellent choices. I would see Grijalva as a stricter pro-environment idealogue, and Thompson as a centrist that would balance business and environmental concerns.

The firefighting community seems to prefer Thompson. When formulating his position on fire issues, he sought out and listened to firefighters.
