Mosquito Lake- Mineral King

Post by Windwalker »

I usually avoid descriptive place names :p but wanted and easy destination for an overnighter with some friends. This was my first visit to Mosquito Lakes and it was a very enjoyable overnighter. We saw a few day hikers but only two other folks camped overnight in the area, not bad for an August weekend so close to the road.

Can you see the "Face" on the left? The guys that were with me thought I was trippin' when I was trying to show it to them.

Wonderful reflections (and yes, I do see the face).

Dayhiked the Mosquito Lakes back in 1990, but I haven't been to Mineral King since. I should really go back...maybe next year.

Looks like King Tut

Well done reflections WW and excellent face! Back in my 35mm SLR days I looked for and captured numbers of interesting bilateral reflections where faces are sometimes graphic. In fact in one exhibit back in the early 80s I hung a print at 90 degrees for one that looks like a wizard with a robe.
