Another good site to check for flowers and animals,birds etc is http://www.enature.com/fieldguides/index.asp

They have a really good search feature including various regions. Check it out.

Maverick, we were camped in Nine Lake Basin for the 4th and tried to do Pyra-Queen per your recommendations. What did you want to know? the last 2 lakes on the way up to PQC were frozen, intermittent snow around 11K. also the top lake in NLB was frozen (under Lion Pass)
