Backpacking the JMT

Post by malibulee4 »

I'm leaving in a couple weeks to pack a small section of the JMT. Does anyone know what the Bear Creek River Crossing is like and where might be a good place to cross. Just out of Lake Thomas Edison.
Thanks, Janet

Last year in August is probably quite a bit different than this year in June/July, but we crossed right at the campground on the Eastern end of the lake. A few people boulder hopped across, I just waded right in and out. Keep in mind this was to cross the stream to get to and from the boat landing for Vermillion.

I hope the power company has decided to keep the water in the lake this year. Last year it was really depressing to see.
