Re: Poppies
Very cool! I actually like the second one better.
By the way, just got back from Shell Creek Road off of Hwy 58,the place famous for its flowers and they are really starting to display nicely!
Here are a couple of poppy shots from near San Luis Obispo:

Re: Poppies
Nice closeup Michael. Takes me a number of attempts to get something so nice and sharp when really close down inside.
From a flat formerly farmed field near your Tulare town of Ducor along SR-65 on March 12. The extremely dense 6 to 10 inch fresh deep orange poppies were so bright in the late morning sun that I had to squint. My idea for the shot was to maximize the orange across the whole frame so got down to maybe a 30 inch height. The green grass blades added some nice graphic contrast between the orange. Also have a number of screaming orange poppy landscapes mixed up with all manner of other wildflower colors from a recent road trip to southwest Riverside County. ...David

Re: Poppies
Looks like we have a poppy off. Nice to see so much orange. I didn't find anything that dense, but will have to find one to post tonight as well.
